Our PDF to JPG tool turns every page of a PDF into its own JPG image. It's handy when you need to post a page somewhere that only accepts pictures, or when someone on a phone just wants to look at a page without opening a PDF reader. Pick a quality, upload your file, and download the images.
Choosing the right quality
The only setting is quality, measured in dpi (dots per inch). Higher dpi means a sharper, larger image file. Lower dpi means a smaller file that's quicker to send.
| Quality | Resolution | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | 150 dpi | Most everyday uses: sharing pages in chats, viewing on screen, adding to slides |
| High | 300 dpi | Printing, or pages with small text you need to zoom into |
| Small | 72 dpi | Quick previews and places with tight upload size limits |
If you're not sure, start with Normal. You can always run the file again on High if the text looks soft when you zoom in. Small is the opposite case: at 72 dpi, fine print can become hard to read, so open one image and check it before you send the whole set to someone.
Steps to convert a PDF to images
- Choose a quality: Normal, High or Small.
- Add your PDF. On a phone, tap "Select files". On a computer, you can also drag the file onto the page.
- Add more PDFs if you need to (up to 30 at once).
- Convert, then download.
A PDF with one page downloads straight away as a single JPG. A PDF with several pages comes back as a ZIP with one JPG per page, so you'll need to open or extract the ZIP to see them. Most phones and computers can do this from the file manager without any extra app.
When a picture works better than a PDF
PDFs are great for documents, but plenty of places would rather have an image.
A teacher might want to drop one page of a worksheet into a class group chat so students can see it right there in the conversation. An image shows up instantly in WhatsApp and similar apps, while a PDF has to be downloaded and opened.
Social media is another one. If you've designed a flyer, menu or event poster and exported it as a PDF, most social platforms won't take the PDF directly. Converting PDF to picture format solves that.
Small businesses often keep price lists, menus or certificates as PDFs. Turning a page into a JPG makes it easy to use as a product photo, a website image or a status update.
You can also use it to pull a single chart or diagram out of a report to paste into a presentation. Convert the page, then crop the image to the part you want in any photo editor.
What the tool does and doesn't do
Each page is rendered as a full-page image, exactly as it looks in the PDF. You get the whole page, including margins and any blank space. If you only need part of the page, crop it afterwards.
The tool converts every page in the file. To get images of just a few pages, use Extract pages first to make a shorter PDF, then convert that.
Keep in mind that a JPG is a picture. The text in it can't be selected, searched or edited the way it can in a PDF or Word file. If you need the words themselves, PDF to text is a better fit.
Going the other way is just as easy. If you have photos and want to bundle them into one document, JPG to PDF does that. And if your images come out larger than you'd like, Compress image can make them smaller.
Phones, computers, and file sizes
Since it all happens in the browser, you can convert PDF to image files on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, Linux or a Chromebook. Nothing needs installing.
Each upload can be up to 100 MB. Bear in mind that High quality on a long PDF produces a lot of large images, so the ZIP can end up bigger than the original PDF. If that's a problem, try Normal or Small.
Privacy
Your PDF is processed on our server and deleted as soon as your images are sent back to you. We don't store the file or the images, and we don't share them. There's no watermark or logo stamped on the JPGs.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free to convert PDF to JPG here?
Yes, completely free, with no sign-up or account. The images you download have no watermark.
Why did I get a ZIP file instead of images?
Your PDF had more than one page, so each page became its own JPG and they were packed into one ZIP to keep them together. Open the ZIP to get the individual images. A one-page PDF downloads as a plain JPG.
Which quality should I pick for printing?
Choose High (300 dpi). It gives the sharpest result and holds up better on paper. Normal is fine for screens, and Small is mainly for quick previews or very tight size limits.
Can I convert only one page of my PDF?
The tool converts all pages. To get one page, take it out with Extract pages first, then convert that single-page PDF and you'll get one JPG back.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Open the page in your phone's browser, tap "Select files" and choose your PDF. When it's done, the JPG or ZIP saves to your downloads.
Can I convert several PDFs at once?
Yes, up to 30 PDFs in one upload, within the 100 MB limit. All the resulting images come back together in one ZIP.
